Regularity of the sample paths of a class of second order spde ’ s

چکیده
We study the sample path regularity of the solutions of a class of spde’s which are second order in time and that includes the stochastic wave equation. Non-integer powers of the spatial Laplacian are allowed. The driving noise is white in time and spatially homogeneous. Continuing with the work initiated in Dalang and Mueller (2003), we prove that the solutions belong to a fractional L2-Sobolev space. We also prove Hölder continuity in time and therefore, we obtain joint Hölder continuity in the time and space variables. Our conclusions rely on a precise analysis of the properties of the stochastic integral used in the rigourous formulation of the spde, as introduced by Dalang and Mueller. For spatial covariances given by Riesz kernels, we show that our results are optimal.

Arens regularity of inverse semigroup algebras
We present a characterization of Arens regular semigroup algebras $ell^1(S)$, for a large class of semigroups. Mainly, we show that if the set of idempotents of an inverse semigroup $S$ is finite, then $ell^1(S)$ is Arens regular if and only if $S$ is finite.

متن کامل$(m,n)$-Hyperideals in Ordered Semihypergroups
In this paper, first we introduce the notions of an $(m,n)$-hyperideal and a generalized $(m,n)$-hyperideal in an ordered semihypergroup, and then, some properties of these hyperideals are studied. Thereafter, we characterize $(m,n)$-regularity, $(m,0)$-regularity, and $(0,n)$-regularity of an ordered semihypergroup in terms of its $(m,n)$-hyperideals, $(m,0)$-hyperideals and $(0,n)$-hyperideal...
متن کاملec 2 00 5 Hölder - Sobolev regularity of the solution to the stochastic wave equation in dimension
We study the sample path regularity of the solution of a stochastic wave equation in spatial dimension d = 3. The driving noise is white in time and with a spatially homogeneous covariance defined as a product of a Riesz kernel and a smooth function. We prove that at any fixed time, a.s. the sample paths in the spatial variable belong to certain fractional Sobolev spaces. In addition, for any f...
متن کاملThe Jain–monrad Criterion for Rough Paths and Applications to Random Fourier Series and Non-markovian Hörmander Theory
We discuss stochastic calculus for large classes of Gaussian processes, based on rough path analysis. Our key condition is a covariance measure structure combined with a classical criterion due to Jain and Monrad [Ann. Probab. 11 (1983) 46–57]. This condition is verified in many examples, even in absence of explicit expressions for the covariance or Volterra kernels. Of special interest are ran...
